Common questions about joining.
Still unsure? Reach out to the SMMTA office and a board member will walk you through it.
Who is eligible for SMMTA membership?
Any business or professional operating in the marine industry on St. Maarten or St. Martin — Dutch or French side — is welcome to apply. This includes marinas, chandleries, technical services, provisioners, charter operators, and related hospitality and transport businesses.
What does membership cost?
Annual membership fees vary by business size and category. Fee details will be shared during the review process and confirmed before you commit.
How long does approval take?
Most applications are reviewed within 5–7 business days. We may reach out for clarification or additional documentation during this period.
Can I update my directory listing later?
Yes. Your profile is yours to manage. Update hours, services, photos, and contact details anytime through your member dashboard.
Do I have to complete both steps?
Step 1 is required for membership. Step 2 — the directory listing — is highly recommended (and included in your membership) but technically optional. Most members complete both within the same week.
